IRM Foundation Strengthens APC Support Base in Chikun with Strategic Community Engagement

The drive to consolidate grassroots support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaduna State has received a significant boost as the Grassroots Mobilization network spearheaded by Ibrahim Rilwan Muhammad extended its ongoing strategic familiarization tour to Chikun Local Government Area. The initiative, which continues to gain traction across communities, reflects a deliberate and coordinated effort to deepen political participation, foster unity, and strengthen the party’s presence at the grassroots level ahead of future electoral engagements.

The outreach, conducted under the platform of Grassroots Mobilization for APC in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Uba Sani, is part of a broader vision aimed at building a people-oriented political structure anchored on inclusivity, dialogue, and sustainable development. By taking engagement directly to the communities, the movement seeks to bridge the gap between leadership and the electorate while ensuring that the voices of ordinary citizens are heard and integrated into the political process.

A major highlight of the Chikun visit was a high-level stakeholders’ engagement that drew participation from a wide spectrum of the local community. The meeting brought together influential groups and institutions, including representatives of Jama’atu Nasrul Islam (JNI), the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), persons living with disabilities, youth organizations, women groups, and traditional leaders. The diverse composition of attendees not only reflected the inclusive philosophy of the initiative but also reinforced its commitment to fostering unity across religious, social, and cultural lines.

Speaking during the engagement, the State Coordinator of the mobilization effort, Comrade Kabir Wushishi, outlined the core objectives of the tour. He emphasized that the initiative is designed to strengthen relationships between the organization and grassroots communities through direct interaction and trust-building. According to him, meaningful political mobilization cannot be achieved without sustained engagement with the people, noting that such efforts are essential for ensuring long-term participation and ownership of the democratic process.

Comrade Wushishi further highlighted that the movement is not solely focused on political gains but also on promoting community development and social cohesion. He explained that by engaging stakeholders from various sectors, the organization is able to better understand the unique challenges faced by different groups and tailor its interventions accordingly. This approach, he said, has been instrumental in building credibility and expanding the network’s reach across the state.

The delegation also paid a courtesy visit to the palace of the District Head of Gwagwada, Alhaji Shitu Abdullahi Kuriga, where discussions centered on community development and leadership. The traditional ruler expressed strong confidence in the vision and leadership driving the initiative. He described Ibrahim Rilwan Muhammad as a committed philanthropist whose consistent efforts to uplift vulnerable populations have earned him widespread respect and admiration.

Alhaji Kuriga noted that initiatives such as the Grassroots Mobilization tour are critical in strengthening the bond between political actors and the communities they serve. He commended the emphasis on inclusivity and urged the organizers to sustain the momentum, adding that community leaders are ready to support any effort that promotes peace, development, and collective progress.

Further strengthening its engagement, the delegation visited the APC Party Secretariat in Chikun Local Government Area, where they were received by the Local Government Chairman, Auwal Ilyas. In his remarks, Ilyas lauded the initiative, describing it as timely and impactful. He noted that the structured approach adopted by the mobilization group would significantly complement the party’s efforts at the grassroots level.

According to him, one of the key challenges in political mobilization is effectively reaching diverse groups within the community. He expressed confidence that the ongoing tour would help bridge this gap by creating a more coordinated and inclusive framework for engagement. He also projected that the initiative would lead to increased membership, stronger loyalty, and improved collaboration among party stakeholders.

In his message to the people of Chikun, Ibrahim Rilwan Muhammad, who was represented by his Media Aide, Kabir Baba Sidi, reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to supporting the APC and advancing its vision for development. He attributed his involvement in the mobilization effort to his firm belief in the leadership of Governor Uba Sani and the Renewed Hope agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

He further emphasized that beyond political mobilization, his foundation—IRM—remains dedicated to humanitarian service. He assured residents that the foundation would continue to expand its interventions in key areas, particularly in supporting vulnerable and underserved populations. These efforts, he noted, are aimed at improving living conditions and empowering communities to achieve self-reliance.

The Chikun engagement represents another important milestone in the ongoing grassroots mobilization campaign, which has been steadily building momentum across Kaduna State. With increasing acceptance and collaboration at the community level, the initiative is laying the groundwork for a robust political structure capable of driving inclusive governance and sustainable development.

As the tour progresses to other local government areas, stakeholders have expressed optimism that the approach will not only strengthen the APC’s support base but also redefine political engagement by placing greater emphasis on dialogue, inclusivity, and community-driven solutions. For many observers, the IRM-led mobilization effort is emerging as a model for effective grassroots politics—one that prioritizes the needs and aspirations of the people while fostering unity and shared purpose.

In a political landscape where grassroots connection often determines success, the sustained outreach by Ibrahim Rilwan Muhammad and his team signals a strategic and forward-looking approach. By combining political mobilization with humanitarian commitment, the initiative continues to resonate with communities, positioning itself as a formidable force in shaping the future of Kaduna State’s political and developmental trajectory.
