The Advisory Counsellor to the Governor of Kaduna State on Humanitarian Affairs, Ibrahim Rilwan Muhammad, has paid a heartfelt condolence visit to the family of the late elder statesman and former Commissioner for Information, Rabiu Bako, describing his death as a great loss to Kaduna State and Nigeria as a whole.
Speaking during the visit to the residence of the deceased in Kaduna, Muhammad said the late Bako lived a life dedicated to public service, patriotism, and the progress of the state. According to him, Bako was widely respected for his wisdom, commitment to good governance, and his consistent contributions to the development of the state during his years of service.
He noted that the late elder statesman played a significant role in shaping public communication and strengthening government–citizen relations during his tenure as Commissioner for Information. Muhammad added that Bako’s legacy of service and integrity would continue to inspire younger generations of leaders in Kaduna State.
The governor’s adviser described Bako’s passing as painful and unfortunate but emphasized that death is an act of God that no one can question. He prayed that Almighty God would forgive the shortcomings of the deceased, grant him eternal rest, and give his family, friends, and associates the strength and patience to bear the irreparable loss.
The late Rabiu Bako reportedly passed away in the early hours of Saturday, March 1, leaving behind family members, political associates, and admirers who remember him for his dedication to the growth and stability of Kaduna State.
Meanwhile, a grassroots political support group backing the administration of Governor Uba Sani has reaffirmed its confidence in Ibrahim Rilwan Muhammad, describing him as a committed party stalwart and a pillar of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.
The Kaduna State Coordinator of the group, Kabiru Wushishi, stated this when members of the group paid a solidarity visit to Muhammad at his residence in Kaduna. According to him, the group decided to formally associate with Muhammad because of his longstanding commitment to the ideals of the party and his support for the developmental policies of the current administration.
Wushishi noted that Muhammad’s experience in public service, combined with his dedication to humanitarian causes, makes him a strong figure capable of mobilizing support for the APC ahead of future political engagements. He added that the group believes his leadership as their state patron would help strengthen grassroots participation and unity within the party.
The coordinator further commended Muhammad for his continuous efforts in supporting vulnerable members of society through various humanitarian interventions, describing such actions as a reflection of true leadership and compassion for the people.
In the spirit of the holy month of Ramadan, Ibrahim Rilwan Muhammad also used the occasion to extend humanitarian support to women and vulnerable members of the community who attended the gathering. He donated cash assistance to several beneficiaries as part of efforts to ease the economic burden many families face during the fasting period.
Muhammad urged the beneficiaries to make good use of the support to meet their immediate needs and assist their families during Ramadan. He emphasized that acts of charity and kindness are particularly important during the holy month, as they promote unity, compassion, and support for those in need.
Some of the beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the gesture, noting that the assistance would go a long way in helping them provide food and other essential items for their households during the fasting period.
Responding to the visit by the APC support group, Muhammad appreciated their show of solidarity and reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the administration of Governor Uba Sani. He stated that his long-standing relationship with the governor and belief in his developmental vision for Kaduna State continue to inspire his dedication to the success of the government.
He further explained that through his foundation and humanitarian initiatives, he will continue to complement government efforts by providing assistance to vulnerable communities and supporting initiatives that promote social welfare and development.
Muhammad also reiterated his readiness to serve the people of Kaduna State in any capacity he is called upon, stressing that leadership should always be guided by service, humility, and a genuine desire to improve the lives of citizens.
He called on political leaders, community stakeholders, and citizens to continue supporting the policies and programs of the current administration in order to achieve sustainable development and lasting peace in the state.
